RULES:

Current USA Swimming and Iowa Swimming, Inc. (ISI) rules will govern this meet.

DATES:

Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9, 2007

TIMES:

Saturday Morning:      Warm-ups:  7:30 a.m.             
Competition:  8:30 a.m.
Coach’s Meeting:  7:15 a.m.
Saturday Afternoon:  Warm-ups (minimum 50 minutes) will start immediately following morning session, but not before 12:00 p.m. 
Competition:  Not before 1:00 p.m.
Sunday Morning:        Warm-ups:  7:30 a.m.
Competition:  8:30 a.m.
Sunday afternoon:      Same as Saturday afternoon.
Split Warm-Ups:         Teams will be notified if warm-ups are to be split.

Indoor, 8 lane, 60m facility with two moveable bulkheads to accommodate two 25-yard courses.  The competition course is 12 feet deep at the start and 4 feet 10 inches at the opposite end.  A Daktronics Timing System with two back up watches will be used.

COACHES:

Must possess and visibly wear a current USA Swimming Coaches Registration Card.  All Coaches on deck must sign the ISI Coaches Registration Form verifying certification.

WARM-UPS:

ISI warm-up procedure will be followed.  See ISI Code Book Section J.  Swimmers without a coach are to report to the Meet Referee prior to warm-up for lane assignment.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

1.  All swimmers must be current USA Swimming registered athletes.
2.  Contestants must enter the age bracket corresponding to             their age as of December 8, 2007.
3.  A swimmer may enter up to 4 individual events per day and 1 relay per day.
4.  Seed times must be submitted for a 25-yard course.
5.  All events will be pre-seeded except the 500 Free, 1000 Free and 400 IM.
6.  The Senior 500 & 1000 Free and Senior 400 IM will be limited to the fastest 24 women and men in each event. Swimmers not making the cutoff for these events may swim an alternate event that must be selected prior to 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 4th.  Psych sheets noting these cut-offs will be available at the team website (www.iceels.org) by 9:00 PM on Monday, December 3rd.
7.  Phone entries will not be accepted. 
8.  Event file has been sent to all meet invitation contacts and is also available on the ISI website – www.isiswim.org or by contacting ICE meet entries contact, Kelly Eyanson - eyanksbj@msn.com.
9.  If names are on entry sheets for relays, those names will be on the relay cards at the meet. 

ENTRY LIMITS:

100 Splashes/Lane/Session

ENTRY FEES:

1.  Individual events are $2.00 per event.  Relays are $5.00 per relay.
2.  ISI Splash is $3.00 per swimmer.
3.  Write a single check for entry and splash fees payable to the Iowa City Eels Swim Club (ICE).
4.  Entry fees are not refundable.  Splash fees will be refunded if the entire meet is canceled.

ENTRY FORMS:

Submit entries on disk in Hy-Tek Commlink II format (generated from Team Manager or Meet Manager).  When submitting disk entries, you must provide a printout of your entries.  The attached ISI Financial Sheet (ISI App 8.1) should also be included with your entries and check prior to the deadline.  Entries may also be submitted on the attached entry form (ISI App 7).  Any team submitting entries on disk will receive meet results on a disk at the conclusion of the meet. Results will also be available from the host’s team website (www.iceels.org).  All hand entries in excess of 5 swimmers per team will be charged $2.00 for each swimmer.

ENTRY DEADLINE:

Entries must be received no later than 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007.  Federal Express and UPS will be accepted all day.  Please check No signature required.” Electronic entries will be accepted until 12:00 PM on Monday, December 3rd. All fees and financial sheet must be submitted with entries or paid prior to the first session on Saturday, December 8th.

LATE ENTRIES:

Late entries will be accepted until 15 minutes after the start of warm-ups for      each session and will only be allowed if adding a swimmer to an event where an open lane exists.  No additional heats will be created for late entries whether event is pre-seeded or not.  All late entries will be entered as NT.  Late entry charges will be $4.00 for individual events and $6.00 for relays payable at the late entry.

SCORING:

Events will not be scored.

AWARDS:

For individual events, ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 8th place.
For relays, ribbons will be awarded from 1st through 3rd place.

MEET OPERATION:

1.  Positive check-in is required for the 10 & Under and 11/12 boys 500 Free at the clerk of course by 8:00 AM for Session 3.  Positive check-in is required for the 500 Free, 1000 Free and 400 IM, 30 minutes after the start of afternoon warm-ups for events in Sessions 2 and 4.
2.  The Senior 500 and 1000 Free will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating women and men.
3.  A maximum of six heats of the Senior 500 & 1000 Freestyle and Senior 400 IM will be swum; ideally consisting of three heats each of females and males.  However all open slots will be filled, even if this results in an unbalanced mix of male/female athletes.
4.  It is not the meet host’s responsibility to provide rest for swimmers who      enter both 8 and under, 10 and under, or Age Group and Senior events.
5.  Events may be combined to facilitate the meet operation and separated later.
6.  If the field for individual events exceeds the 4 hour rule, relays may be cut.
7.  A clerk of course will be provided for Sessions #1 and #3 only.

 

MEET COMMITTEE:

A meet committee comprised of the Meet Referee, Meet Director, Coach Representative, Athlete Representative, and one (1) Certified Official acting at large will be established to receive and act upon any administrative protest filed at the meet.  The committee will not act upon judgment decisions as those are under the jurisdiction of the Meet Referee.  This committee shall act as a review section in the need of an emergency meeting

SCRATCHES:

ISI Scratch Rule is in effect.  See ISI Code Book Section J.

NO SMOKING: 

Smoking is NOT allowed in the swimming venue.

USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION:

Late USA swimming registration at the meet is $56.00 (annual) or $33.50 payable to ISI and $5.00 processing fee to ICE.  No Club or Coach registrations will be accepted.

ADAPTED COMPETITIVE: 

USA Swimming and ISI encourage adapted competitive swimmers to                      participate in all sanctioned meets.  The “Adapted Competitive Swimmer Information Form” (ISI) Code Book App-21) must accompany entries.

OTHER INFORMATION:

1) Programs and final results will be available for purchase.
2) Each USA Swimming team entered will receive one copy of the program and detailed final results will be available to all teams using Hy-Tek Software.  Hard copy of the final results may be requested on the Financial Sheet #8.1 for a fee of $5.00.
3) Concessions will be available for purchase.
4) A merchandise vendor will be available at this meet.
