2007 Wreath Sales

wreathFor several years, the Iowa City Eels have sold wreaths as our primary short course season fundraiser. This year we can offer wreaths in 18", 22" and 34" diameter sizes.  This year you also have the option of selling garland in 6 ft. strands.  All wreaths will come with cones and bows and your customers will have a choice between balsam wreaths or mixed balsam & fir wreaths. For every wreath sold, your fundraising requirement will be credited with the following amount: $6.00 for each 18” wreath; $9.00 for each 22” wreath; and $ 11.00 for each 24” wreath.  Each 6 foot section of garland will earn $7.00 toward your fundraising requirement.

Wreath sales can begin immediately. All orders are due by Tuesday, October 30.  Please use the accompanying sales record and turn this form in along with the money by the deadline. This form will be returned to you at the time of wreath pick­up. In the interest of easy tracking, please fill out all relevant sales information. All payment for the wreaths should be collected at the time the order is taken.   Checks should be made out to Iowa City Eels.  All orders and all money for wreaths ordered must be turned in to Gregg Shoultz or Barry Butler by 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 30.…no exceptions! Orders can be left in the drop box at Mercer clearly marked  “wreath sales”

The wreaths should be delivered to the club sometime around Thanksgiving. Details regarding distribution of the wreaths will be announced later this month. Extra forms are available online at our website or in the ICE file marked “fundraising” at Mercer. To make this a successful fundraiser, we request that each family set a goal of selling 5 wreaths.
This is a great way to meet your fundraising requirement for the short course season, $100.00 for one swimmer, $150.00 for two or more swimmers in a family.

Fundraising is an essential part of the Iowa City Eels Swim Club.  It allows ICE to provide a high quality swimming program while keeping costs reasonable for Club families.  This site will provide up-to-date information on fundraising activities and report on ICE fundraising successes.  We welcome all ideas to help increase financial support for the Eels and invite ICE families to suggest resources, projects, and activities to help accomplish its fundraising goals. 

Fundraising requirement: Every ICE family has an obligation to support the club via fundraising.  For families with one swimmer in the club the suggested figure is $100.00  per season.  For families with more than one swimmer that figure increases to $150.00  per season.  As a club we try to sponsor as many fundraising opportunities as possible-  wreath sales in the fall and a Swimathon in early summer. In the past we have also helped with the Parade of Homes, non-ICE hosted swim meets, concessions sales at Carver-Hawkeye Arena and the purchase of ads in our meet programs.  Even if you loathe selling there are often other options so in most cases fulfilling this requirement isn't as difficult as it may sound.
